2019 NEXT DOC FELLOWS PROGRAM *EXTENDED DEADLINE

The extended deadline to apply for the 2019 NeXt Doc Fellowship is Friday April 5th @ 8pm EST

NeXt Doc aims to create space for non-fiction filmmakers of color ages 20-24 years old who historically have not had access to film programs and development of documentary filmmaking skills. The 2019 NeXt Doc Fellowship kicks off with a week-long intensive program that takes place June 2nd-7th at the Carey Institute for Global Good in Rensselaerville, NY in Upstate New York. The intensive is followed by a year of mentorship, online masterclasses, access to film festivals and key industry convening and will close with a week-long gathering at the True/False Film Festival in Columbia, Missouri which will take place the first week of March 2020.

The program is intended to be accessible to all filmmakers who are eligible to apply no matter their financial status. This is made possible by in-kind contributions from Youth FX, The Logan Non-Fiction Program at The Carey Institute for Global Good as well as our funders at JustFilms Ford Foundation, NYSCA and supporting partners.  ***We highly encourage women, people of color and LGBTQ filmmakers to apply.

Check out the 2018 NeXt Doc program booklet to get a sense of what to expect at the week-long intensive:

There is no cost to apply, and those selected will attend FREE of charge with food, housing, and workshops all fully covered.

***Do keep in mind that if you are selected as a fellow for the 2019 NeXt Doc program you will be responsible for covering your travel costs to the Albany, NY area where we will arrange transportation to the Carey Institute.  If you have any questions about the application or the NeXt Doc program please email: info@youthfx.org
